Netflix shells out $20 million to acquire Richard Linklater's new film starring Glen Powell, Hit Man. Linklater is the five-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind Dazed and Confused, The Before trilogy, Boyhood, and other films dealing with the themes of suburban culture and the passage of time. His latest film is Hit Man which stars Powell in the titular role.
Now, after Linklater's latest film received much critical acclaim at the Venice and Toronto film festivals, Netflix has paid $20 to acquire Hit Man for the streaming service, according to Variety. Netflix hasn't set a release date yet, though the film is expected to receive a theatrical release before hitting the streaming service.
